Safe Online Shopping from Cahoot

If you do a lot of online shopping but are worried about giving out your credit card details over the internet, why not apply for the Cahoot credit card.

Not only does it come with a whole range of great features like purchase protection and payment protection, but it has a unique service which could be of benefit to YOU if you shop a lot over the internet. Webcard is their virtual online payment card. With a Webcard from Cahoot you never have to give out your card details over the internet when you shop online. It also means that instead of having to fill all your credit card details, you can use Webcard to do it for you! And that way you can shop online without your plastic. It makes it much easier to fill in online forms and means that you can also specify a maximum amount that the online retailer can charge you. For more about how it works, scroll to the bottom of the page!

With Cahoot if you have outstanding balances on credit cards, overdrafts or even a loan for which you are paying a higher rate of interest, you could be better off transferring your borrowing. Over 2/3 of their customers find that they are paying less interest with Cahoot than they were before. To transfer your balances, apply for a Cahoot credit card and use cahoot’s online application form. Once your account is opened, you’ll be able to see your transactions and balance online at your convenience.

More about the Cahoot Webcard

Once you have a Cahoot credit card or current account, you enter your details into the bank's website and which will generate a unique 16-digit number every time you want to buy something online. Once you've finished making your purchase, the number becomes invalid and can never be used again. That means your actual card details are never given out to retails or to online transaction processors.

As well as the security features, there are a number of other benefits. You specify the maximum the retailer can charge you for each transaction...which means that they can't add in things that you thought you hadn't agreed to (like high charges for postage and packing) or repeat bill you. And you can use the service to shop with any online retailer just as you would a normal credit card. It can even be used to purchase goods over the phone. The benefits are clear - online retailers really don't have many means to check card details and although they always try to maintain high standards of security, sometimes things do go wrong and you can be charged twice. In the worst cases, retailers can expose their existing customers details through an unsecured website. Cahoot estimates that at least 250,000 people in the UK have been victims of online fraud.
